Coverage is provided through leading health care provider, which is one of the largest healthcare network nationwide. Coverage is effective the date of hire, with no waiting period. Employee contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.
Dental coverage is provided through leading dental insurance company. It has the best nationwide network of physicians. Coverage is effective the date of hire, with no waiting period. Employee contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.
Universal provides vision coverage through leading health care provider. Vision coverage also includes an Eyewear Discount Network that offers discounts on contact lenses, lenses and frames.
Universal provides both Long-Term disability and optional Short -Term disability plans through UnumProvident to all employees. The short-term disability plan provides continuing income for short-term disabilities (up to 13 weeks). All employees are eligible to enroll upon date of hire and qualify after a 90-day waiting period.
Enhanced Benefit Programs
In addition, Universal offers enhanced benefit programs through UnumProvident. The "Assist America" program provides medical emergency assistance to travelers should they need emergency medical help when more than a 100 miles away from home, or while in a foreign country.
The "LifeBalance" program through UnumProvident provides 24-hour access to professional advice/counselors on both workplace and personal related issues.
All Universal employees receive a life insurance/Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit of $50,000 through UnumProvident and qualify for coverage after a 90-day waiting period.
Paid Time Off
Universal provides employees with paid time off for vacation each year. Universal employees also earn vacation days the longer they stay with the company up to 15 days (120 hours). Universal also provides sick days and ten holidays in a calendar year.
Universal provides all employees the option of automatic direct deposit for full or partial amounts to savings and/or checking accounts.
New England Financial administers the 401K plan at Universal. All employees are eligible upon date of hire and after completing a 30-day waiting period. There is an elective deferral contribution of up to 15% of annual earnings or $12,000 (IRS maximum), whichever is reached first.
If one of our engineers refers us to a potential client hiring manager and we successfully place one of our " IT Gurus " at this location, Universal will pay the referring party a fee for every hour billed to this client.
On the other hand, we recognize that even in this market sometimes it is sometimes hard to find the right candidate to fill a particular position. Universal will also pay a referring fee for every hour a new recruit works on that particular project.
In both cases, whether it is 10 weeks, 10 months or 10 years, we will pay a fee for each and every hour billed to the client.
